Never a Dull Moment ... Even For My Birthday Dinner.

If you've seen my tweets you know that I'm late everywhere. I really have tried to combat the problem but I think it's maybe something I should just accept. I hate being early places so instead, I'm late. It's pretty annoying, even for me, but what can ya do?

Anyway, my birthday dinner was no exception.

I had planned this birthday dinner at The Cheesecake factory & sent out a facebook message about it a couple weeks ago inviting all the people I'd love to see for my birthday, even people who I hadn't seen in a while.

Some people decided to meet us there & some wanted to ride along.

So, after I rounded everyone up, we were off to the birthday dinner about 7:20 when the dinner was at 7:30 and about 20 minutes away.

One of my good friends and her little girl were coming to the dinner and she texted me around 7:30 saying, "I'm here with your momma (my mom had gone early to get a table since Cheesecake doesn't take reservations) by the bathrooms". And then about 7:40, "You would be late to your own birthday party, silly girl!"

I went running in with the three girls I took and the two who rode separately about 7:45 and started looking for my friend who was there with my mom. 

She was texting me, "we're by the bathrooms!"

I was looking around, asking if maybe there was another bathroom ... nope. Only one. 

Then it dawned on me! They were at another Cheesecake Factory about 20 minutes south of Butler and we were at the one 20 minutes north.

My jaw dropped.

I called my mom and asked if she was at Greenwood which she confirmed and told her we were at Keystone and were leaving right away.

I felt so terrible not only for my friends who were with me but my friend who had come to the Greenwood one with her little girl. I knew she'd be getting tired by that point.

Well, all of my friends packed up and went to Greenwood no problem and it ended up being a really great dinner even though we didn't arrive to my 7:30 birthday dinner until 8:30 and we had to sit in two back-to-back booths.

I'm so thankful for my rock-star friends who didn't miss a beat when they had to drive 40 minutes the opposite way to go to my birthday dinner and then some didn't even get to sit by me.

It's the thought that counts, really.

And I'm thankful.

This sweet baby was born my junior year in High School and was the first baby I ever saw right after it was born. I love her and her momma so much & I'm beyond happy they could come to my birthday dinner. It really was the cherry on top.

Day 2!

As I promised yesterday ... Day 2 of our vacation is here for your enjoyment!

Magic Kingdom, Disney World

Since we weren't staying on property, but an hour away from the park, we left the house around 8:30 every morning. It made for pretty early mornings since we had one bathroom & 4 people to get through the bathroom. Luckily, Drew & I always fell asleep on the way to the park. 

When we arrived, we took a ferry boat across the water & over to the park. The ferry boat is awesome because Cinderella's castle gets closer & closer and even for me at 19, I could hardly contain my excitement.  

When we got into the park, we rode a bunch of rides, Space Mountain & Thunder Mountain Railroad being some of my favorites. 

At 3, it was time for the parade. There was no way I was missing it, even though Drew was less than thrilled to be going to it. He kept reminding me that parade time would be the perfect time to ride rides since everyone was watching it, but I insisted & I think he ended up really enjoying it. 

We rode more rides, found dancing in the street & shopped in the plethora of stores on Main Street before heading home to gear up for day 3.

I left satisfied, feeling full of the magic.

Drew's best friend goes to golf school in Orlando, so after we left Disney, he met up with T and since I was tired, I went home with my mom & her friend. I thought it would be good to let them have some guy time anyway. 

Drew slept on a pull-out couch during the trip & I slept in a room with my mom, but I decided to wait out on the pull-out for him to come home so I'd know he made it. 

When he woke me up, it was 12:30 a.m. on February 12th, which meant it was my birthday!! He had flowers in his hand & a gift too. It was the perfect end to a great day!

I have really awesome friends

I was just layin in my bed tonight, under my heated blanket, thinking about all of the homework I should be doing tonight but am putting off tomorrow when I heard the Happy Birthday song being sang by my 3 bestie Butler friends, Toogie, Jessie & Emily ... There may have been dancing.

THEN!!!! They handed me a pink-flowerdy present that said it was from all of them and do you know what it was?

It was a CHI!!!!! 

I've had my straightener since 8th grade & it finally stopped working 2 weekends ago. It doesn't really matter when I'm at school because I just use Toogie's Chi, but when I go to Florida & when we don't live together, I'm really going to need one.

I'm so lucky to have awesome friends! I think thats the best part about birthdays, not the presents, but seeing how much you're loved. Such an awesome feeling & I feel so lucky!
