Falling down stairs, ex-girlfriends and more ...

Yep, that was my weekend.

I had to go to a PR conference in Bloomington (IU for those of you that don't know) this weekend. It was scheduled for Friday night 6-10 and Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Needless to say, I was not going to drive back to Indianapolis on Friday night & back to Bloomington before the sun came up Saturday morning, so I asked one of my friends if I could stay with her.

All things were set for a go.

I went to the conference Friday night, a short but interesting session before I headed over to my friends apartment but as soon as I got there, I found out one of Drew's ex-girlfriends was going to be there too. (remember, we've both dated other people once)

Now let me just tell you before we go on that this is a girl I had more hateful feelings for than anyone should have for anyone. I didn't not like her because of Drew, but because we had talked about things once & made up & then I heard her going around saying mean things about me again.

I'm like that. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me & damn it, there's never gonna be a third time because you've had all of your chances.

So naturally, I was a bit upset from the time I walked in the door.

The ex-girlfriend, "T" came in & pranced around & I was generally just annoyed so eventually I decided to go down stairs.

I pissily (it's a word now) hopped down the stairs in 4 inch heels and just then, I twisted my ankle & fell down the whole flight of stairs right in front of T. My brand-spankin-new shoe broke and everything. yeah.

Luckily, I never clean out my car so I had a pair of black wedges in my car just like the ones I had on.

I was part of the non-partying crowd since I had to get up so early, but I still joined everyone in the kitchen while they were doing partying of their own.

Things started to loosen up & I started to feel better about being there and eventually, everyone decided they wanted to go to a different party.

Of course, I was the DD & a girl from our high school, Brianna was sober with me so she sat in the front seat. Brianna & I decided the party was too wild for us so we dropped everyone off, told them we hoped they found a ride back (ha!) and went back to the apartment where we both went to bed very quickly.

My alarm went off all to early at 6:45 a.m. and I hopped out of bed. I didn't feel too bad and I thought I looked really cute in my business-wear so I got ready quickly and packed up my stuff, thinking that I would actually arrive at something on time for once.

I opened the door & looked out, no car.

I looked down the lot, no car.

I looked again, it hadn't magically appeared yet.

I went & woke Brianna up, "uh, Brianna?" I said, "didn't we park the car right outside the door when we came back last night?", she rolled over and said yeah.

"Well, it's not there" I told her, more calmly than I should have.

"WHAAAAT?" she jumped up and looked outside.

Still no car.

Long story short, my car had been towed regardless of the fact that there were no tow signs in sight. bullshit.

I called the police, they gave me the number for the towing place, I called the towing place & their voicemail told me they wouldn't be open until 11, so Brianna took me to my conference promising to pick me back up to go get my car at 11.

After a few good speakers at the conference, I went to the boon-docks to get my car & paid $120 to get it back.

There was no freakin' way I was going back to school. I needed to go home. I needed my mama. So that's just what I did. I drove home and after some much needed hugs, took a nap.

After a 2 hour nap, I woke up to the sun pouring in the windows & felt much better so I decided I should rollerblade to Drew's house since he was in town too. I was so thankful for the day getting better; sunshine & rollerblades are the key to a good mood for me.

I arrived at his house, phone in hand and we hung out for a bit before he took me home, but when I got there, I realized I didn't have my phone.

Losing things is common for me so I just called him and told him I had left it at his house and said I'd come get it later.

I putzed around at home, made a good dinner & got all gussied up to go back to school & go out with my girls. Regardless of losing my phone, I was in a great mood. I was in a great mood until I went back to his house & looked for my phone for 4 hours before giving up & just going back home. I didn't get to go out with the girls.

Yet, despite the fact that my mom had already paid for me to get my car back from the towing place, she didn't want me to go back to school without a phone so off to Verizon we went this morning & I left with a new iphone. I was so pumped about having it. Sure, it cost some extra money that we weren't planning on spending but it's great.

I played around with it, changed some ring-tones, added some apps and added a password to the screen.

Life was good.

Until the password wouldn't work to open the phone.

I tried for an hour to open it. I knew I had made my password my PIN number, I had put it in twice when I set it. Yet, no matter how many times I tried, it wouldn't take it.

It wasn't until I went back to Verizon that they told me I would need to go home & just restore it.

So I did that & 40 minutes later, I had restored the phone and was on the road back to Indianapolis & here I sit now, at Butler University, completely emotionally & physically exhausted. Drained.

So that's where I'm at right now.

How are you?

Ha! At least you didn't have to start a brand new blog, change your twitter name, and make your old blog private due to a certain crazy in your life... Because yeah, that was MY weekend!
