The almost compliment.

So I've been forced to jump back onto the saddle ... the dating saddle, if you know what I mean.

Which? isn't exactly what I wanted to do but desperate times call for desperate measures ya'll & I'm not afraid to take a few chances.

I've heard there are lots of fish in the sea.

Last night was one of the first of those dates. I met the guy a couple weeks ago ... he's nice, successful, smart, cute ... you know, a lot of the things I'm looking for.

So last night? we went to dinner.

Mind you, I had not eaten since the morning when I had half a bagel.

Between that time & dinner I did a lot of things including a run.

Basically, by the time dinner rolled around, I was starving.

We chose a mexican restaurant where I ordered a small burrito and a cheese quesadilla.

And? I ate every single bite. I wasn't even stuffed.

& then the almost compliment came.

He saw my empty plate & said, "wow! Im impressed! most girls I take out just pick at their food."

[insert crickets]

So uh, next time I think I'll have a snack before I go on a date & then maybe eat a little less.

I would take that as a compliment!!! Good for you for having what sounds like a good date with a nice guy AND actually enjoying your dinner!

I'm sure he just meant that you have the self-confidence to eat like a normal person in front of him. Probably. Lol.

Take that as a compliment, for sure! In my experience, nice guys like it when a girl isn't intimidated to actually eat her food in front of them. :)

Hope the dating thing goes well. Sometimes we don't even realize how much more we want out of a relationship until we're forced to see what else is out there!
