Fall Semester Classes

I've written a lot about my social life while I've been at college, but I haven't said much about my actual studies. I'd like to point out that I really am working hard & trying my hardest to reach my goal of a 4.0. I feel like I have so much time to get things done, that if I don't get a 4.0, I'm just crazy.

I guess you can see what you think; here are the classes I'm taking:

Algebra: Yeah, I tested into the very first possible math class one can take at Butler. Whatever, I knew it would happen. Math just is not my strong point and especially not algebra. The professor I have here is fabulous so far. He's kinda like a grandpa. He goes pretty slow, explains things well and is more than willing to answer questions during or after class. I think algebra will be a challenge, but great.

Writing for Print Media: I also think I'm going to love this class. I love reading and writing and think of it as a craft. I always want to get better. In this class, we're going to learn a lot about how to write to catch people's attention. I'm excited about that. (and maybe you are too if you're so bored that you wanna poke your eyes out) My WFPM prof. is great too. She has worked for the Indianapolis Star for 10 years and Wish T.V. for the same. She's had a lot of experience and while I'm pretty sure she's gonna be a hard ass, I know I'm gonna become a better writer.

First Year Seminar: This is a required course for all first year students, but we were able to chose which one we wanted to do. I chose the Memoirs and Biographies FYS and I also love it. Our professor is awesome. She's about 30 years old, total hippie & great writer. I know that I'm going to become more creative in her class & get a chance to read things that I wouldn't otherwise. (Speaking positively since I had to buy 5 Novels!!)

Spanish: I tested into 203 even though I was horrible in spanish in High School and had to take 3rd year twice. My High School teachers were insanely hard but they prepared me insanely well and I can't thank them enough for that. I went in on Thursday and knew a lot more than my fellow 203 students. I was glad to be a little ahead, at least right now. My spanish professor is also fabulous; a young woman from Spain with 2 small children. She already has my contact info. for babysitting. (However, I may not have time with the hours of homework she assigns)

Ethics: The only class that doesn't seem like a "fun" challenge. The professor is, for lack of a better word, a dick and he thinks he's Plato. He called me out in front of the class saying that, "you always know a first year because they're writing down everything you say." Oh, and i was sitting there with a page full of notes. Thanks ass hole. I'm just gonna kiss some major booty and try to get through this alive.

So what do you think?? 15 credit hours and great classes. A 4.0 is so do-able, right?
