The Trip Part One: NYC

I wanted to see New York City and I was not let down. In fact, the trip was absolutely wonderful. It was everything I could have asked for and more.

Addison was quite possibly the best host anyone could ever ask for. And because of that, I say, I don't know if your friends are as awesome as Addison is but if so, definitely visit new places with a friend who has lived there for a while. There's no way I could have gone to the city with someone else who had never been there and have seen even half of what I saw. She just knew the perfect game plan to get us everywhere I wanted to go to see all that I wanted to see.

Every morning I woke up more sore than I do from any workout and I actually had to buy new shoes on-the-go one day because I could feel the ground through my flip flops. We walked that much. Which was great because we didn't skimp on good food.

Rockefeller Plaza? Check.
Times Square? Check.
The Plaza Hotel? Check.
Ground Zero? Check.
Statue of Liberty? Check.
Uptown? Check.
Midtown? Check.
Downtown? Check.

Check. Check. Check.

I saw all of those things & more in just a little over three days. And we walked most of it. That's a feat, you guys.

& one of my most favorite things of all was going to a man-made beach that overlooked the Brooklyn Bridge on the last night. There are moments you just wish you could just stay in forever & that was one of them. It was so surreal. I was in New York City with one of my best friends and one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen was before me. I think that moment will be forever burned into my mental scrapbook.

The big apple was different from Indiana, that's for sure. You might have understood that if you read my post from last Wednesday.

On that first day, I was pretty much overwhelmed. But I got used to it & it didn't take long. I began to move faster like everyone else, I could swipe my metro card and move through in a second & I even got used to the unfriendly people. Will I be happy to return to my town's slow pace where I can hop in my car & be at Target in less than two minutes? Yes. But I want to visit the city again. I really liked it. For a few days.

Come back tomorrow for a post on visiting my friend Amanda from Chasing Twins in Louboutins in Pennsylvania. The visit with her was like a 180 and a kickflip from being in the city but equally as great in a totally different way.
