If you really knew me ....

I've been seeing these "If you really knew me" posts going around and I think it's kind of fun to uh .... well, get to know the blogger, so I thought I'd join in.

I asked a few of my good friends to offer their input and got more than I bargained for but I'll share some of what they said (some was just downright inappropriate so I'll spare you) and some of my own little tidbits too.

If you really knew me ...

{From my friends}
  • You'd know I lose everything. It's true, I do. One time my mom said, "I couldn't find my ass if it was on fire" & pretty much, she's right.
  • You'd know I usually wear all silver jewelry. Interesting input but, yeah.
  • You'd know I ALWAYS do things spur of the moment. Okay, I'm not sure you could say ALWAYS but for the most part, it's true because I can't ever make my mind up until it's absolutely crucial that I do.
  • You'd know what I look forward to most is married life drinking a beer in my driveway with my neighbors watching my kids play. Ha! I do say this all the time. What can I say? I think I was just meant to be a wife & mom and I love a cold beer (just one or two, I'm not a big drinker) and I love neighbors so the combination of all those things sounds just about perfect.
  • You'd know my mom is my best friend. Duh, you probably already knew that.
  • You'd know that I'm really, really nice. Ha. Okay this came from a new-ish friend and while it's a great compliment, I'm not always really, really nice. But, on most days, if you just saw me in passing, you'd probably get a smile and a, "hey! how are you?" from me.
  • You'd know I like to stay super busy. I've come to the realization that I'm actually kind of afraid of having time with nothing to do. Like, that ish scares me. Sometimes that can come back and bite me when I'm running on zero sleep and have forgotten to breathe but, it's me.
{From me}

  • You'd know I'm a good friend and take friendship really seriously. I really do consider friendships a privilege & I think we all should. Having good friends, which I believe is essential to a happy life, takes being a good friend. I try to remember that, always.
  • You'd know the way to my heart is asking me to go for a walk. I love going on walks any time of day or night. One time, I walked with a friend from 3 a.m - 5 a.m. Ask me to go for a walk? instant bond.
  • You'd know I have a lot to work on and I try to be honest about that always. I'm hard on myself, maybe harder than I should be, but I think it's good to be honest with ourselves that we're not perfect and there's always things we can work on. I mean, what do we get by acting like we're perfect? nothing.
  • You'd know one of the things I need to & try to work on most is living in the present. Nikki said I look forward to kids and a husband most. I do, it's true. I always have. But, I also know I will never get this time back when I'm free to do whatever I want, whenever I want. So, I really try to be conscious on keeping my eyes on the prize while not missing out on what's going on now. Tough balance, I'm tellin ya.

There ya go, all you wanted to know about me & probably more.
