Yeah, I'm talking about you, Sugar.
Our relationship is over.
No cookies, no ice cream, no pieces of candy, no anything that is super yummy.
Just kidding, I'm being a little dramatic, I'll still eat fruit & that's yummy.
Anyway, I have gotten absolutely hooked on sugar. Like, I actually think I get a kind of "high" from it and it's dumb because then after I get the high, I also get the crash & then I feel terrible and I'm grumpy.
Plus, my addiction to sugar has not been kind to my booty if you know what I'm sayin'.
When I was getting a massage this weekend, my massage therapist who is also a health coach told me about a study that said sugar has some of the same addictive qualities as alcohol and drugs.
I totally believe it.
As someone who has diabetes running through my family like oompa loompas have orange, I have got to stop.
There's no better time than now & last night I even turned down the plate of cookies (my favorite form of sugar).
When I was talking to my massage therapist about sugar I dramatically said, "so the people who do the sugar detox with you can't ever have sugar again?" and she said they could but when they eat the sugar again, it will just open the flood gates & they will want it the next day for sure.
So I'm going to do this for as long as I can and only have sugar on super special occasions & I'll be sure to update you on how it's going.
I can do this!
