Who Are You?

Jenni pinned this quote on Pinterest last night & it could not have come at a better time - it also inspired this blog post.

You know, as women, insecurities are always on our minds. "Are we skinny enough?, Are we too skinny?" "Do we go out enough?,  Do we go out too much?"

There are a million & 5 things we could beat ourselves up about & sometimes do.

Sometimes we have friends who aren't supportive of decisions we've made, sometimes we make mistakes at work and feel like we're the dumbest people on the planet.

(And no, I'm not saying be that girl who's like, "I don't care what anyone thinks about me" because I hate that & it's just irresponsible.)

What I'm saying is, regardless of what you've done or what you haven't, what you look like, or what you don't, if you know who you are, you'll take the opinions of others, quietly tuck them in your pocket & not revisit them again unless you really think you have some changing to do.

It's so important to really know who you are, what you stand for & where you're going so you can combat the inevitable haters & struggles that come your way.

At least that's what I've found.

That being said, remember this one too:

(Rule #1 of a lady (Rules in no particular order))

(Jenni posted this on Pinterest too.)

I think it goes without saying, if you know who you are, you aren't going to be bullying other people because bullys are only insecure.

However, it's important to remember if you're being bullied (and yes, grown women do get bullied & are bullies) that the bully is only insecure & has her own problems she's working with. No secure, happy person bullies.

If you're being bullied, if someone is mean to you & purposely hurts your feelings, be sad for them; they're obviously dealing with some tough things.

Whatever you're dealing with today, remember who you are, remember where you're going & don't let the little things get to you.

You're fabulous.

Love this and it couldn't have been written at a better time. You pretty much summed up everything that I have been thinking lately.

Yup, I love these quotes. When I was younger, I was totally convinced I'd feel incredibly cool and confident by the time I finished college. Ha.

But I'm learning things about myself all the time and it does make other little insecurities fall away. Magic.
