Weekend Recap!

The 3 day weekend we just had was by far one of the best weekends I've had in a long time! There was lots of sun & fun & that's just what I like.

Saturday was such a long day! Mom & I got up early & went to see granddad in the nursing home. A little known fact about me is that I secretly love nursing homes. I really enjoy hanging out with the residents & of course they love it too because some of them rarely have visitors. Plus, most of them are simply hilarious. I may or may not have gotten the middle finger from one of the residents twice on Saturday for no reason at all but he sure thought it was funny so I'll take it.

My cousin graduated from high school this weekend so after seeing granddad I took a quick bath & we were off to the graduation party. My other cousins who are missionaries in China were at the party with their kids who are absolutely some of the most adorable kids around. I was thrilled.

Saturday night, we had a bit of a high school reunion at one of my friend's houses. We had so much fun just being silly & reminiscing.

Sunday was the day for babysitting! Will (9), Margo (8) & Marcella (4) & I hung out from 10 - 6:30. Luckily, it was a gorgeous day so there was no reason not to be outside. Sunny days are always the best for babysitting. Well, actually sunny days are always the best for everything!

I took them to the root beer stand in town for overpriced coney dogs & rootbeer floats but it's all about the experience & there's something about eating in the car with the tray attached to your window that makes a hotdog better than it ever was before.

Will really wanted to go putt-putting but I encouraged swimming since it was almost 90 degrees after lunch. Swimming won out & although Will wasn't very happy about it at first, I think he had a lot of fun.

When I took them inside to use the bathroom, Will spotted cupcakes from Andrew's sister's graduation party the night before. Andrew told them they needed to ask me if they could have one & since they had already eaten a pretty crappy lunch & had rootbeer floats I said they could have half of one. When we were walking out, Margo had a whole one & I was like, "where did you get that whole cupcake?" of course, Andrew had given them whole ones. In true Andrew fashion, he smiled and just said, "they're having fun, it's okay". They loved him even more.

After swimming, we went home & chilled a little bit because they needed to rest up before the big Memorial Day weekend campout they were going to. They packed their tiny little bags & were so excited. When I dropped them off, I realized why. The backyard of their friend's house where the campout was had a huge playground, a jumpy castle and a jumbo flat-screen TV wheeled outside with the Wii hooked up to it. They were in heaven & I really didn't want to leave.

Yesterday, we spent the entire day at the lake. My two best girlfriends Katie & Morgan tagged along with me and we spent the day jet skiing & laying out.

Later in the afternoon, they had to leave for work & I took by far one of the best naps I've taken in a long time in the hammock & I would know, I'm a nap connoisseur

Around dinner time, My cousin & uncle came out to the lake. Coming to the lake & being on the lake is something they don't get to do very often so they absolutely loved being out there.

Don't I have the prettiest mama in the world?

While everyone sat talking & taking in the lake breeze, I laid down on my mama's legs & took a little cat nap. A nap on the pontoon is a close tie with one in the hammock. Personally, I just like to take both.

Today is going to be spent cleaning & running errands & doing all of the things that didn't get done this weekend because it was so go-go-go!
